Well, since Care2.com has asked that I not use the same posting for my own blog as the ones I write for them, LA Farm Girl is starting off the week rather lazily and simply putting a link to this week's post here http://www.care2.com/greenliving/help-start-a-peoples-garden-in-your-community.html for your reading pleasure.
It's about the USDA's People's Garden Initiative, encouraging us all to plant gardens in our local communities. A great idea! And, nothing precludes me from posting a photo of one of our great local community gardens, Torrance's Columbia Park Community Garden.

Hi Judi -
Apologies for posting directly on your site (and examiner.com too :)) - I couldn't find your email address. I wanted to invite you to the groundbreaking of a community farm Triscuit (my client) and Urban Farming, a non-profit organization, are launching Thursday in LA. I thought you might be interested in coming down to the event and/or speaking with Taja Sevelle, the founder of Urban Farming or Paul James, host of the HGTV show “The Gardner Guy” (both spokespeople for the program) before the launch.
I hope this interests you! Please shoot me an email allison.goldstein@edelman.com so we can discuss further.
Best,
Alli
Hi Judi,
Love this! Triscuit (my client) and non-profit, Urban Farming, are launching the first of 50 national, community-based home farms this Thursday in L.A. I've read a few of your posts (Examiner, LAFarmGirl) and would love to have you come down to the groundbreaking event!
HGTV's "The Gardener Guy," Paul James, and Taja Sevelle, Urban Farming Founder, will be on-site for interviews to discuss gardening tips and how this new farm will benefit the community.
If you would like more info, please don't hesitate to reach out - jaclyn.printz@edelman.com
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Jaclyn
