Off-Topic? Electric Car Film Screening Today

I just wanted to post a quick note about an event that The Torrance Public Library Commission (my commission) is co-sponsoring with the Environmental Quality and Energy Conservation Commission this afternoon at Torrance Public Library it's a screening of the documentary “Who Killed the Electric Car?”

The film is a 2006 documentary exploring the development of the fuel-efficient, environment-friendly electric car and its demise.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on alternative energies. The panel will consist of individuals featured in the documentary including Zan Dubin Scott, Paul Scott, and Chelsea Sexton members of Plug In America. Electric cars will be on display!

This program is co-sponsored by the Torrance Library Commission and
the Environmental Quality and Energy Conservation Commission.

I will be there along with some goodies I got at the Farmers' Market this morning, and it will be air-conditioned, plus we have some hand-outs from the South Bay Energy Center and from our wonderful Recycling Coordinator, Allison Sherman all about water and energy conservation, important to us all.

Hi Judy,

Thanks so much for posting this. And for a terrific spread. Dana tells us that the screening/Q&A was probably the library's best attended yet. This world will improve, thanks to people like you and all the folks who showed up to show support of a cleaner planet.
Best,
Zan

I'm really embarrassed to say I haven't seen this movie, especially since my boss was one of the original "owners" of an EV1 and now has the EV Rav4. He's driven the most EV miles of anyone in the world. Sure wish I could get one.

Who is your boss, MaryRuth??

Zan,

I wanted to thank you for your wonderful film and the wonderful work you have done and continue to do in spite of what seem like insurmountable roadblocks. I get so angry and sad that if often paralyzes me, I want to thank all of you for re-inspiring me. And, Dana is right, I have never seen that many people at any of our programs, thanks for coming and staying to talk with all who had questions.

Mary,

Thanks for always visiting and offering valuable input and I am with Zan, inquiring minds want to know, who has the EV Rav-4?

My boss' name is Avi.
I actually had this event on my list of things to do for LAST weekend (I messed up on the date a little, huh?), but I ended up doing house stuff instead.
Glad to see you had a good turnout and more people are seeing this technology as a viable way to go and not just some wayout fringe thing.

We know Avi! Plug In America featured him in our newsletter--for having so many miles on his RAV4 EV. Small world...
